Inflatio pelagius, commonly known as Wigglytuff, is a soft-bodied mammal characterized by its remarkable elasticity and luxurious, fine fur. This species has evolved a unique ability to inflate its body by inhaling air, a behavior likely developed as a defensive mechanism against predators, allowing it to appear larger and more intimidating when threatened. Wigglytuffs are social creatures often found in small groups, where they engage in playful competitions to see who can inflate the most, which may serve to strengthen social bonds within the group. Their diet primarily consists of fruits and soft vegetation, which they can easily digest due to their flexible anatomy. This species inhabits lush, temperate forest ecosystems, where their dense fur provides excellent insulation against cold temperatures and aids in thermoregulation. The finer aspects of their fur are also believed to play a role in attracting mates, as individuals with the most luxurious coats are favored during mating rituals.
